You can request an impartial adult called a ‘chaperone’ to attend your face-to-face appointment. Chaperones have specific training and their role is to offer emotional support and reassurance, as well as provide a safeguard for both you and the clinician.
They are routinely offered before intimate examinations, such as breast, genitals or rectum, but they’re available for any type of appointment where it’s necessary to touch or be close to a patient.
Chaperones are available at all Babylon clinics. When you arrive for your appointment, you can request a chaperone with our receptionist.
